Chicago Police ‘Violated the Constitutional Rights of Residents For Years’ According to Investigation

“A year long investigation concludes the Chicago department has violated the constitutional rights of residents for years,” according to Fox News. It says that officers were “poorly trained, shot at vehicles, shot at fleeing suspects, used force for retaliation, used force when there was no threat, and failed to de-escalate situations and avoid force.”

Former Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy claims the new probes are down to politics, and that cops have friction in minority communities because that is where the trouble is. “The most violent community in Chicago is Englewood,” he says. “That happens to be 97% African American. The expectation is that we’ll stop 32% white folks there which is just preposterous.”
