The “Jesus” film, available in 1500 languages and recognized as the most translated film in history by the Guinness Book of World Records, has led more than 200 million people to become Christians since its release in 1979.
Recently, the film was translated into Daasanach, and shown to a small village in Ethiopia.
“More than 600 people showed up to watch the ‘JESUS’ film at the recent showing in Ethiopia, which is stunning considering the local demographics,” Billy Hallowell of Faithwire reported.
According Josh Newell, the director of marketing and communications for the Jesus Film Projects, those who speak Daasanach are generally fiercely independent people located in one of the most remote areas in the world.
“Not only is it difficult to physically reach them, but also incredibly hard to penetrate their hearts,” Newell told Faithwire, but 80 of the Daasanach who watched the film became Christians after seeing it.
