Corporal Stephen J. Ballard, a 32 year old Delaware State Police trooper was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Wawa convenience store in Bear on April 26.
Heavy reported, “One suspect was taken into custody at the scene. Another man fled from the scene and barricaded himself inside a home in Middletown, Delaware, state police said in a press release. He was shot dead by police about 9:30 a.m. after exiting the home.”
The man who shot Corporal Ballard was identified as 26-year-old Burgon Sealy Jr, and though some media outlets have covered the crime, most have left out an important detail. The killer was quoting from the Quran during the murder.
“Here again is another important news story getting no coverage,” said Pamela Geller. “A Delaware state trooper was fatally gunned down outside of a convenience store by devout Muslims reciting quotes from the Quran. Any reports of this cold-blooded killing have all references to Islam, Quran, and motive scrubbed from the reportage.”
Delaware State Representative Steve Smyk claimed that Sealy was a practicing Muslim and a “budding jihadist.”
“What I can tell you is that there are people that will immediately assume that the war cry of Allahu Akbar may have been said, and I don’t know that to be true,” said Rep. Smyk. “I do know that he was a budding jihadist and, that being said, how long was he a practicing Muslim, I’m not aware of. We do know that at the scene during this standoff he was heard citing quotes from the Quran. What those quotes were I don’t know.”
