Teen Admits To Murdering Woman With Samurai Sword and Axe

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to a court order, admitted in Swansea Crown Court to using a Samurai sword and axe to murder Fiona Scourfield, 54, in her own home in St Clears, Carmarthenshire.

Scourfield, also known as Fiona Wales, was a member of UK German Shepherd Rescue, and is said to have worked tirelessly to make the world a better place for animals. Her dog Bruno was her “absolute world,” and she reportedly rescued more than 250 dogs in one year.

Fiona’s family described her as a loving and caring person, and thanked everyone for their support; but now they would like time to grieve, and asked for privacy to do so.

The teen who killed Scourfield will be sentenced early next month after two psychiatrists prepare reports on him.
